Stop immediately if anything hurts, feels unsafe, or causes dizziness. Do not push through pain. Seek help from a qualified medical professional or coach before returning to the activity.
Adult supervision matters
A parent, guardian, coach, or other responsible adult should supervise a young player’s training. Choose activities, equipment, surfaces, space, and intensity that fit the child’s age, skills, health, and local conditions.
Use common-sense safeguards
- Check bats, balls, helmets, footwear, and the practice area before use.
- Use adequate room and keep others clear of swings, throws, and moving drills.
- Warm up, hydrate, rest, and adjust or stop when the child is tired or uncomfortable.
- Follow league, facility, school, and medical guidance, including pitch-count and participation rules.
- Keep instruction constructive. The goal is learning, effort, and enjoyment—not pressure or punishment.
