Day 1: Train the Athlete, Not the Mirror
One small skill. One game. One thing to remember.
Foundation & Arm Care
Play catch-and-move for five minutes; name what feels easy today. Work slowly first, then try the small game. A parent or coach can help.
The reason
A gentle warm-up prepares the body for play.
One cue
Health first.
Keep it simple
- Health first.
- Practice in a safe space with an adult and stop if form fades.
Keep this
Today I can practice train the athlete, not the mirror with control.
Before you go
Show or explain the best choice you made today. What will you try next time?
Ask after practice
Tell your adult: What went well? What will you try next time?
Ten-chance movement game
Play catch-and-move for five minutes; name what feels easy today. Try up to ten comfortable chances. Give yourself a point for each focused try or smart decision, even if the result is not perfect.
Bronze 4–6 · Silver 7–8 · Gold 9–10. A better score replaces your previous score, without stacking points.
Day 1 complete?
Mark complete after you try the lesson. You can change this later.
Practice safely
Have an adult supervise. Use bodyweight and open space; no maximum lifting or throwing tests. Follow league throwing limits. Stop if anything hurts.
If something hurts, stop and tell an adult. Keep throwing within your league’s rules and the player’s comfort.
