Coach young hitters with a plan.
Hitting practice plans for the coach with 11 kids on a Tuesday night. What to teach, how to teach it, the cues that work, and a 60-minute station plan for 8U, 10U and 12U, from Coach Billy Kehoe (BK).

C12UNo more lines.
No more guessing.
Most youth hitting practice is one kid swinging and eleven kids waiting. The Playbook runs every practice in stations, so every player gets 60 to 100 swings an hour, and you always know what to teach next. Every lesson uses the same 46/60 swing words your players hear in their own courses, so coaches, parents and kids all say the same thing.
What to teach in kid words · why it matters · how to teach it (show, explain, feel, drill, test) · 3 cues and what each one fixes · what wrong looks like and the fix · a printable practice plan with minutes · a softball note.
What your team will get better at
- 01A balanced stance, a small early load and getting the front foot down on time
- 02Real bat speed from the body, not the arms: bump the hip and let it go
- 03Barrel above, hands inside: more line drives, fewer pop-ups and rollovers
- 04Knowing the zone, timing faster pitching and competing with two strikes
24 lessons. A plan for every practice.

Before you start
Who is the Coach Playbook for?
Youth baseball and fastpitch softball coaches of 7- to 12-year-olds: Little League, rec, travel and school teams, and parents who coach. No coaching background needed.
How is it different from the 46/60 courses?
The 46/60 courses are for families, one player at a time at home. The Coach Playbook is for running a team practice: stations, rotations and minutes for 10 to 12 kids, using the same 46/60 swing words.
Is it for softball too?
Yes. Every lesson works for baseball and fastpitch, and every lesson has a softball note for where fastpitch is different.
What do I need?
Helmets, bats, a couple of tees, a hitting net or a backstop, a bucket of balls (foam or whiffle balls help a lot with younger kids), cones and, for front toss, an L-screen.
How long do I have access?
One year from purchase. Lessons 1–3 are free to try right now.
When can I buy?
Enrollment opens November 15, 2026. Until then, try Lessons 1–3 free and join the launch list.
Run Lesson 1 tonight.
Lessons 1–3 are free: the 46/60 practice hour, the swing in kid words, and a first-practice plan you can print. Players 13 and up? See the Coach Editions at Athletic Hitting Development.
